A wonderful mixture of cooking styles exists within Turkish cuisine, a unique and exotic fusion with influences from many countries. Since the days of the powerful Ottoman empire, Turkey has adapted and perfected dishes from many other cuisines.
Turkish food is famous throughout the world, and is considered one of the 3 pre-eminent cuisines alongside French and Chinese. The painstaking preparation of simple but fresh ingredients brings out the richness of their flavours in a way that never fails to delight.

Fresh fruit and vegetables play a crucial role in Turkish cuisine, and every month we will bring you a special selection of authentic recipes. Some of the recipes will come from Emre Tanriover’s personal collection of family recipes, dating back more than 200 years.
Some will be obtained from our farmers in the remote rural area’s, yet others will come from the world-class modern restaurants of Istanbul. Sometimes traditional, sometimes modern, sometimes daring…. But never boring!
